Pleated fabric sides have some discoloration in the folds, and pleats have lost some of their structure, nothing to detract from function. Bag measures 10 1/4″ across top, 8 1/2″ across bottom, 5 1/2″ high, and 1″ front to back at bottom. |

This ca. early 60's bag is one of the best-quality, best-condition vintage purses I've ever owned or sold! Made in Spain and private labeled for El Corte Ingles ("The English Cut"), Spain's largest department-store chain, its two-tone beige & brown coloring is suitable for year-round use, and its classic styling is perfect for carrying every day. This is quality that lasts a lifetime. While many older bags aren't sturdy enough to cart around all the "stuff" we do today, this is. Its thick double strap, four roomy compartments, and substantial metal hardware are durable enough to carry a modern woman’s necessities. There are two outer pleated pockets, large center compartment with clasp, and one open compartment on each side of the center. Tough vinyl interior, with one open pocket and one zippered one. Measures approx. 8 3/4" H x 10 1/4" W x 3 7/8 D (front to back at bottom). Handles are 7 3/4" high from where they attach. Near mint overall; miniscule wear to clasp finish and a light patina on the frame and hardware. I was able to polish some of this away, so you might want to buff it up with a soft cloth. Interior is clean with no marring or damage. Leather shows no signs of wear, and has not even begun to be "broken in." The vanity mirror has some weird marring of the back surface, but the mirror itself has no flaws. |

Here's an early to mid-60's Kelly "ladies who lunch" bag by Life Stride; very wearable vintage! In a high-quality faux patent leather and in near-mint condition. Purse body is a dark cream or champagne color; deco-inspired "V" is taupe and brown. There is a metal-flake look to this, but it's subtle, not true metallic. This faux patent is some of the nicest I've ever felt--soft, supple, and thick. The cream main body actually feels real (the darker colors aren't), but there are no open seams to check, and I didn't want to do a pin test. So, I'm pricing it as faux, especially since many Life Stride patent bags of this age are. Vinyl lining with one open pocket. Bright goldtone clasp and frame. Handle is lined with a plastic band for added strength. Measures 8 1/2" H x 10" W x 2 1/4" D. Approx. 5 1/2" drop on handle. Condition: Near mint; almost no signs of wear. Lining is as perfect as you'll find. This was clearly not used much at all. |

These art-deco-inspired Jasmin bags with snakeskin are getting very collectible! This one's in white leather with great trim details--metallic silver band at the top of the flap that curves to the front, genuine snakeskin trim in silver, gold, and peachy-beige, and patent-leather "nose" on the flap. Long skinny strap detaches (via small slide hooks under the flap) so you can use this as a clutch bag or sling/shoulder bag. Flap closes via magnetic clasp. Interior is black fabric and has one zippered pocket. Hong-Kong-made bags are of top quality, and this one is no exception. Measures approx. 8" H x 12" W (across widest point) x 1 1/2" D; 42" shoulder strap. In excellent condition, clean inside & out; appears to have been used very little. Only issue of note are about 4 small "pock marks" in the leather on the back--probably from being laid on top of something that left marks. Nothing to detract from looks or function. |

The perfect companion to your little black summer dress is this little black summer clutch by Morris Moskowitz (maker's mark "MM"). It's done up in a tight linen-weave natural fiber (not as fine as linen, it feels and sounds like straw), with a finely ribbed black satin faille lining. Has two open pockets on interior, one on each side. Rounded goldtone clasp is ribbed for a decorative look and a non-slip grip when you open it. At 9" long x 5" high (not incl. clasp) x about 2" across at bottom, this bag is just the right size for carrying all your special-occasion essentials. I've shown the bag lightened in one photo so you can see the detail better! Near-mint condition, barely used. No corner or frame wear, etc. Pristine lining. |

Unusual novelty bag from K & G Charlet, made in Japan. I've found loads of bags from this maker, but they are all beaded/sequined traditional styles, nothing at all like this one! Perfect for a vacation trip or patio party. Features an embroidered panel with a parrot in a tree overlooking a flamingo in the water, both of whom have large (about 5 mm) , bright rhinestone eyes. Panel is recessed into the front, so that a dimensional picture frame is created—artwork on your bag! It’s made of a woven canvas or burlap-type fabric, which is underlayed with a metallic silver material like mylar (can't get a good enough look to tell exactly what it is). Interior is of beautiful ivory moire′ satin and has one open, pleated pocket. Double handle, snap-tab closure, pleated sides. A tall, thin bag, measures approx. 11½″ H x 9½″ W x 2″D (front to back at bottom). Handles drop 7 ″ to top of bag. Overall in excellent condition. Only issue is that the panel background is missing some threads. Since these are not woven into the purse, but run across the surface of the panel, they could likely be replaced with matching thread. The embroidered images themselves are totally intact, with no loose or missing threads. Prong-set rhinestones are securely attached and in excellent condition. Interior is clean. |

Lovely faille (probably rayon) bag from L & M , made in USA. Styled much like those of the late 40s, but its superb condition indicates it might date into the 50s. Body is gathered and pleated below the rigid frame for a pouch/slouch look, but has a stiffened bottom. One or two of the additional photos have been lightened to show detail. Lining is soft black satin, with zippered pocket, in pristine condition. The real stars of this bag are its unique handle and its clasp. Handle is a rigid goldtone-metal frame set on thick, fixed rings atop the frame. A strip of the faille fabric is set into it, and the gold wraps the edges. I personally have never seen a handle quite like this, and I’ve seen hundreds of vintage bags. The round, tall clasp features a beautiful glass, faux carnelian cabochon. Clasps on vintage bags are so much lovelier and more interesting than those on modern bags… don’t you think? Large but sophisticated bag measures approx. 8½″ H x 12″ W x 3″ D; 4″ handle drop. Excellent to near-mint condition. Even though the logo imprint on the lining is faded, this bag appears to either have been used very little or was taken extremely good care of. |
