Unique, fun, and daily-wear hats from the 20s through the 80s. Timeless classics for today & tomorrow! |

Wow—a quintessential Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany’s hat, so popular these days! Early to mid 60’s vintage. This one is fashioned from semi-sheer, woven nylon chiffon, with very interesting construction. The crown is covered with individual, overlapping chiffon “petals” or leaves, giving a slight dimensional look. Brim features the chiffon covering in a swirled design. (See additional photos for details.) Very chic, and makes this hat really stand out from similar styles. I haven’t seen an Audrey hat this nice! The look is completed with a velvet ribbon and bow around crown base. No maker’s label, but does have a union label. Exterior is clean, excellent to near-mint condition. I see one very small break in the mesh frame. Measures approx. 21″ in diameter. I take a 22” hat, and this is just a hair too small for me. |

This 1950's beaded & sequined hat is perfect for a cocktail party or formal dinner, or as a wedding cap. Its fishscale sequins are patterned in a swirly, scalloped design. At the crown, sequins and glass beads form a beautiful leaf-like pattern. (Lots of photos provided; click on the link.) Made by Aristocrat and sold at the B. Forman Company, a now-closed (as, sadly, so many of them are) upscale department store of the era in Rochester, NY. This is nearly a “one size fits all,” as its placement is flexible and the sides that pinch in over the ears will expand. I’ve measured it, though, and it’s 8 1/4″ from front to back, 4 7/8″ between the ear pieces (unstretched). Unless you have a very small or very large head, this should fit. Excellent condition, with only light soiling on the faille trim at the tips of the ears, not visible when hat is worn. I see no loose or missing sequins or beads. |

Vintage 50's Aristocrat Sequined & Glass Beaded Cocktail Hat, Bridal Cap |

Pretty pink 1950’s cocktail hat also makes a great bridal cap to wear with a soft pink gown. This looks lovely with the 1930’s lace gown I have listed on the dress page—check that out! Coiled pink cord and iridescent sequins alternate in rows over the buckram frame, and soft pink velvet trims the edges. Cap is structured, but will fit a range of head sizes. Measures 7 1/2″ front to back and 7 1/4″ side to side over the ears. Based on how this fits me, I’d say that if you take a small hat size, this may be too large, unless your hairstyle is “big,” or will be for your special occasion. No maker’s or store labels on this anonymous beauty. Excellent condition, with light soiling on the velvet trim at the ears, not visible when hat is worn. I see no loose or missing sequins. |

Cool summer hat from Gwenn Pennington, ca. 1960s. Made of a fine, tightly woven straw or straw-look fabric, features a two-tone color combination: cream crown and light taupe on the brim, and cream again on the slightly rolled edge of the brim. Wide pleated satin-twill band with a straw bow and real feather. Measures 21” around petersham band on inside; fits my 21 1/2″ head, but a bit snugly. Near-mint condition, shows no wear except for a couple tiny spots of soil on the inside of the crown. |

Great pair of “new old stock” red nylon gloves, with tags and in original plastic sleeve. Nylon fabric is embossed and patterned to resemble a croc or alligator skin. These are not thin, extremely stretchy nylon; they have some nice body to them and, at a glance, look like leather. The color is closer to a cherry or apple red than they show in the photo; I may be able to take a more accurate-for-color photo. Please ask me if you would like one. Labeled size “A,” 6–7. Made in U.S.A. Mint, new condition.

Cute-as-can-be 1950's straw hat is a mix of a platter or saucer hat and pagoda hat, with its domed peak. Whatever style you consider it, grab it to wear the rest of the summer and on into fall. Darling with all sorts of hairstyles, and absolutely wearable. Navy blue, with navy velvet ribbon band and quirky bow trim. Has wired-prong cap for secure fit. Great larger size, too! (No labels are or were ever present on this, not unusual with hats.) Size: measures about 17" at the crown (NOT around full head circumference). Adjustable via the prong sides and/or hat pins. I take a size 22" hat, and this fits me; would also fit a larger or smaller head with adjustments. Condition: Near mint. I see no flaws; can't have been worn more than a couple of times. |

Unusual, interesting, and chic navy blue hat, ca. late 50s to mid 60s, features a turban-style look in a modified pillbox shape. Fashioned of wide strips of "crinkled" cello-type material that wrap up to the crown, like a turban. Material is thicker & stiffer than cello, and resembles, IMHO, paper mache'. Has upswept sides to back, large back bow, structured net base with velvet-trimmed edge, chin strap for security (but this should stay put without). Size: Unmarked; measures about 21 1/2" circumference.Fits me, and I normally take a 22" hat. I think it would fit even a bit larger head, as it is not tightly fitted and you can use the chin strap if needed. Condition: Excellent; some wear in just a handful of places--along the edges of the bow and some of the strips of material. |

Here we have a sweet 1940's or early 50's rope-woven fabric beret, labeled "Spunwoven by Everitt," a label that seems to have been quite popular in its day. A delicate shade of pink, the beret is semi-structured and has a sort of scalloped shaping along the back/side edges. Bow trim and turned-under tab finish the look. Hat comes with the pin found with it, which has a clear glass head (the pin by itself is worth a few dollars). Size: measures about 21 1/2" in circumference, but since a beret is generally worn "off center," the fit is flexible. I take a size 22" hat, and this fits me. (And looks so cute I hate to part with it!) Condition: Near mint. I see no flaws. |

Adorable red & white striped nautical silk scarf with black sailboats scattered overall. A perfect complement to the sailor-style dresses, handbag, and jewelry set I have listed here on Ruby Lane, Ships free with purchase of any of these--check them out! (Jewelry shown in photo NOT included, but is listed for sale on Ruby Lane.) Measures 60" long by 9 3/4" wide. Machine-stitched edges. Very good condition: 2 smaller-than-pinhead holes, not noticeable unless you look for them, and a couple of pulls. Probably was pinned at a neckline, thus some "pricks" in the fabric (not holes). Should minimize with ironing (I steamed it, didn't iron). |
